Text Copywriter — Local AI for Canvas text and CMS, no API keys required

Copywriter is the AI plugin for Framer that runs entirely on your machine. No API keys to set up, no monthly subscriptions, no usage credits, no content sent to any server. Just install, download a model once, and write forever.

Powered by WebLLM and WebGPU, Copywriter runs Meta's Llama 3.2 (and Phi-3.5 Mini for multilingual content) directly in your browser. Your text never leaves your machine — perfect for client work under NDA, sensitive copy, or anyone who's tired of paying $20/month for the privilege of writing better headlines.

What you can do with Copywriter

Rewrite canvas text — select any text layers on your Framer canvas, choose a goal (SEO, conversion, friendlier tone, shorter, translate), preview the rewrite, apply individually or in bulk.
Fill CMS collections — generate structured content for any Framer CMS or managed collection. Define your goals, add keywords, optionally include reference text or page context, and let the AI fill string and rich text fields with on-brand copy.
Style tags for tone control — preset tags or your own custom tags steer the AI's voice. Persistent across sessions.
Page context awareness — optionally include the visible text of your current page so generated copy matches the surrounding content's tone and style.

Three models, your choice

Fast (1B) — Llama 3.2 1B, lightning quick, great for short rewrites
Balanced (3B) — Llama 3.2 3B (default), the sweet spot for most content
Phi-3.5 Mini — strong multilingual performance, ideal for non-English content

Models download once (1–3 GB depending on choice), then run from your local cache. Offline-capable after first download.

Why local AI matters

No API key setup — install and start using it. No Google AI Studio account, no OpenAI billing setup, no monthly key rotation.
No monthly fees — pay once or use the free tier. Generation is unlimited at the hardware level.
Full privacy — your designs, copy, and CMS content never leave your browser. Ideal for client work, NDAs, and confidential projects.
No rate limits from third-party APIs — your hardware is the only limit. Generate as many drafts as you want.

Languages

UI available in 10 languages (EN, DE, FR, ES, IT, NL, PT, PL, JA, ZH). Content generation supports any language the underlying model speaks — Llama 3.2 and Phi-3.5 are strong in major European and Asian languages.

Free version

A generous monthly generation limit lets you test Copywriter on real projects. No credit card, no API key, no signup.

Lifetime upgrade

Unlock unlimited generations with a one-time purchase. No subscription, no recurring charges. Pay once, use across all your Framer projects, forever.

Requirements

A WebGPU-capable browser (Chrome, Edge, Safari Technology Preview, or any Chromium-based browser with WebGPU enabled). Most modern devices from 2020 onwards work out of the box. The plugin will tell you if your setup needs attention.

Privacy and data handling

Generation: 100% local, in your browser, on your GPU.
Settings and usage counter: stored in plugin localStorage, sandboxed per plugin origin.
License key (if upgraded): stored locally, validated once with our license provider.
No analytics, no tracking, no telemetry.

Stop paying monthly for AI to write your copy. Run it locally. Own it forever.
