While Framer has 3D transforms for rotating layers in 3D space, there's never been a way to actually load real 3D models—the kind you'd get from Blender, Spline, or any 3D software. You couldn't showcase products in 360°, display architectural models, or add that extra depth to your portfolio. This component changes everything by bringing true 3D model support directly into Framer.

Description

3D Loader lets you upload GLB or GLTF files and turn them into interactive, animated 3D experiences right on your Framer canvas. The component handles everything from loading and rendering to animations and user interactions. You get full control over how your model appears, moves, and responds to user actions—all through simple, visual controls in Framer's property panel.

The component automatically optimizes performance for different devices, supports transparent backgrounds so your models blend seamlessly into any design, and includes smart features like lazy loading so your site stays fast.

Use Cases

E-commerce Product Displays - Let customers rotate and zoom into products from every angle, just like the big brands do
Portfolio Showcases - Display 3D work, character models, or design concepts in an interactive way that stands out
Landing Page Heroes - Add eye-catching 3D objects with smooth entrance animations that grab attention immediately
Architecture & Real Estate - Present building models, floor plans, or property visualizations that clients can explore
Tech & Gaming Sites - Showcase game assets, tech products, or futuristic designs with dramatic lighting and animations
Educational Content - Display anatomical models, scientific visualizations, or any educational 3D content interactively

Customizations

Continuous idle animations (rotate, float, pulse, orbit, swing, and hybrid effects)
Interactive hover effects (pause, scale, tilt to cursor, glow, bounce)
Click animations (wobble, flip, pop, spin) with play-once or loop options
Fine-tune duration, delay, easing curves, speed, and intensity for every animation

Lighting & Appearance

6 lighting presets (Bright, Natural, Dramatic, Soft, Studio, Outdoor) plus custom controls
Adjustable ambient and directional light intensity
Custom light positioning and color controls

Multiple camera position presets (Front, Back, Top, Side, Isometric)
Adjustable field of view, zoom limits, and camera distance
Smooth rotation damping for premium feel
Initial rotation controls for perfect starting angles

Model Transform

Auto-center and scale, or manual positioning controls
Independent X/Y/Z position offsets
Size scaling from 10% to 300%
Initial rotation on all three axes

Performance & Optimization

Lazy loading—models only load when scrolled into view
Frame rate limiting (30fps, 60fps, unlimited)
Low quality mode for mobile devices
Pause rendering when tab is hidden to save resources
Pixel ratio controls for balancing quality and performance
Automatic mobile optimization

Debug & Info

Model statistics display (polygon count, texture info, file size)
Wireframe view mode
Axes helper for orientation
Loading state indicators

Whether you're building a product page, portfolio, or just want to add that extra dimension to your site, this component makes it effortless. No Three.js knowledge needed, no custom code—just professional 3D experiences built visually in Framer
