I build high-performance Framer sites for startups and scale-ups. My work backed a $255M launch (Fundamental) and Fortune 500 platforms.

My last client had a 7,000-article blog that used to take 8 seconds to load. For an enterprise company, that's not just a slow page - it's 8 seconds of lost credibility for every decision-maker who visits.

The technical problem is rarely the blog itself, but the sum of every small decision that happened before: large images, unoptimized video embeds, too many tracking scripts.

Replacing it meant rebuilding the entire site in Framer, implementing proper image compression, and moving to a progressive loading strategy for the heavy media assets. Load time dropped to under 1 second.

What are the common technical patterns you see that immediately signal a site has outgrown its current setup?

When building a navigation menu in Framer, most builders use the default Mouse Enter and Mouse Leave triggers for dropdowns.

It's a quick way to get the animation. But it's also a common source of layout bugs.

The problem: Mouse Leave on the dropdown itself means if you quickly move your mouse off the dropdown even by a pixel, it collapses instantly. This makes interacting with nested links frustrating.

The fix is simple: apply Mouse Leave to the card container that holds both the navigation item and its dropdown.

This gives users a larger, more forgiving target area. The dropdown stays open as long as their mouse is anywhere inside that larger container. The experience is smoother, and the navigation feels more robust.

Do you rely on the default triggers, or do you always expand the hit area?

I'm tired of Framer's bugs… Every time they release new features, they seem to forget about the ongoing issues. Stack just cuts off my text, even though all the positioning is correct. Here's the full text for context: Platform Overview
