How I priced my first freelance projects (and what I'd change):

Project 1: charged a flat fee, way under-scoped. Took way longer than planned. Never again.

Project 3: switched to package pricing with revisions capped in writing.

Project 6: started asking "what's this worth to your business" before quoting.

Now: I price the outcome, not my time and raise rates every few clients.

Undercharging doesn't get you more clients. Know your worth.

How I created Design System using Figma Agents within 24hrs.

1. Started by feeding it reference styles + colors, just need a direction to work off.

2. First round of outputs was rough. Iterated a few times until one version actually nailed the look I wanted.

3. That's when it clicked instead of generating new stuff every time, I locked that output in as the guideline and told it to build every new component strictly off that.

4. Result: buttons, forms, nav, tables, full palette, all consistent full states. P/s: This approach works when you need to come up with the results quickly with a direction. Although, you need to use your creativity & iterate for better results.

I have also made a custom made template in figma. Do not forget to check it out.

Hers’s how to quickly make background image for your designs.

Complete the Design first, then ask ChatGpt to make a background image for that design.

It will generate the best image within seconds.

Fastest way to spot an AI-generated design:

Zoom into the smallest text.

You'll find the inconsistent text style and headlines are too bold.

Random paddings and buttons with outline.

5 ways to design faster (without cutting corners):

1. Steal the layout & content structure first, not visuals. If Skeleton is defined next phases become easier.

2. Build a personal component library, stop rebuilding the same button.

3. Time box exploration to 20 minutes, then commit to a direction.

4. Use variables/tokens from day one, so global changes take seconds.

5. Design in grayscale first, add color only after hierarchy works.

5 Lessons I learned as a freelancer:

1. Charge for the outcome, not the hours.

2. Get it in writing, even for a friend's project and ask for a testimonial.

3. Cap revisions upfront or scope creep eats your month.

4. A client's "no" isn't rejection, It's a feedback to improve on your craft.

5. A slow month can be potentially used to level up your craft.

Your website is losing you customers, Here's why:

Mistake no.1: Your headline doesn't say what you do.

For example:"Empowering the future of connected experiences" tells people nothing. Correct: "Invoice software for freelancers - get paid in 2 days" tells them everything.

Mistake no.2: Stick to one button choice.

Get Started + Learn More + Book a Demo + Sign Up on the same screen = nobody clicks anything (confused behaviour) Pick ONE main action. Consistent. That's your CTA.

Mistake no.3: No proof anyone else uses it.

If your page reads like a promise with no receipts, people assume you're new, small or untested. Add: a logo strip, a testimonial or a user count works.

Mistake no.4: It's built for desktop, check on mobile.

Most of your traffic comes from mobile. If your button is tiny or your form breaks on a phone, you lose the sale before they even see the product.

Mistake no.5: It takes forever to load.

You have about 3 seconds before someone leaves. Compress your images/videos. Cut the extra plugins. Use good hosting

To get your first client, you need something to show first.

Learn a skill → build something around it → post it online.

Twitter/X and freelance platforms have worked best for me.

Keep building and posting and don’t forget to tell your closest friends what you do. I’ve gotten referrals for side projects and still do.

Don’t focus on money at the start.

Offer free services first, then collect feedback and testimonials. This helps you build credibility.

It’s a short tip, but impactful.
